金型落水紙は、越前和紙の伝統技法「落水紙」をさらに進化させた、美しい透かし模様が特徴の高級和紙です。

「落水紙」とは、紙を漉く途中で紙の表面に水を落とし、紙の厚みを変化させることで模様を浮かび上がらせる伝統的な技法です。模様部分がやや薄くなるため、光にかざすと美しく透けて見えるのが特徴です。

金型落水紙では、あらかじめデザインされた型板を使って模様を正確に表現します。
繊細で整った模様が和紙の中に浮かび上がり、視覚的な美しさに加え、指先にも伝わる凹凸のある手触りが魅力です。

本品に施されているのは、あわ玉をモチーフにした文様です。
水の中でぷかぷかと浮かぶ泡のようなかたちを表現しており、軽やかさと透明感、そしてどこか懐かしさのあるやさしい雰囲気が漂います。

和紙本来の自然な風合いと、あわ玉模様の柔らかな印象が重なり合うことで、穏やかで温もりのある一枚に仕上がっています。

Kana-gata Rakusui Paper is a high-grade Echizen washi, created by advancing the traditional rakusui (watermark) technique into a more refined form featuring elegant and intricate patterns.

The rakusui method involves dropping water onto the surface of the paper during the hand-papermaking process. This subtle manipulation creates differences in paper thickness, resulting in patterns that become beautifully translucent when held up to light.

Unlike randomly formed designs, Kata-gami Rakusui uses pre-designed templates to achieve precise, deliberate motifs.
These intricate and harmonious patterns emerge within the washi, offering not only visual elegance but also a distinct tactile richness due to the gentle relief created by the technique.

This piece features a design inspired by awadama—floating bubbles.
The soft, rounded forms resemble bubbles drifting gently through water, evoking a sense of lightness, clarity, and a gentle, nostalgic charm.

The natural texture of washi, combined with the delicate impression of the bubble motif, creates a warm and calming presence in every sheet.
